Preparation Checklist

  • Assemble the three main sections if separated (base, mast, seat/handle)

  • Clear the transfer path

  • Position the Up so the patient can place their feet and grip the handles

  • Explain the process and encourage active participation

  • Lock the brakes

Standard Transfer Sequence

  1. Position the Up in front of the seated patient.

  2. Lock the brakes.

  3. Have the patient place their feet and hold the hand grips.

  4. The patient pulls themselves up into a standing or near-standing position while the caregiver stabilizes and guides.

  5. Perform the transfer (toilet, chair, bed edge, etc.).

  6. Assist the patient in lowering back to a seated position.

  7. Unlock the brakes and move the device away.
