Sling selection is especially important at higher weights. The Calibre uses a 6-point cradle system and requires properly rated bariatric or heavy-duty compatible slings.
Cradle
The Calibre is equipped with a 6-point cradle designed for secure loop-style sling attachment and stable positioning of higher-weight patients.
Recommended Sling Types
Full-body / general transfers
Heavy-duty or bariatric-rated versions of full-back and hammock-style slings. A strong option in the standard range is the Hoyer Full Body Hammock Loop Style Sling (confirm weight rating for the specific patient).
Toileting / access
Access-style padded slings sized appropriately for the patient, such as the Hoyer Access Padded Sling when capacity allows.
Everyday padded support
Hoyer Full Back Padded Loop Sling — verify the specific size and rating against the patient’s weight.
Important Notes
Always match the sling’s safe working load to or above the patient’s weight. When in doubt, contact us with height, weight, and transfer type so we can recommend the correct combination.
