Hoyer® Loop Style Access Padded Sling Head Support

Hoyer uses two main attachment systems:

• Loop-style slings attach to a 6-point spreader bar using color-coded webbing loops. These are the most common type and are used on the majority of Hoyer floor lifts.
• Clip-style (Comfort) slings use the Securi3 clip system and attach to a 4-point positioning cradle. These are primarily used on the Presence and Stature lifts.

You cannot mix the systems. A loop sling will not work safely on a 4-point clip cradle, and a clip sling will not work on a standard 6-point bar.

Slings are never included with the lift and must be purchased separately.

Most reusable Hoyer polyester and padded slings can be machine washed (typically up to 185°F / 85°C). Mesh versions are preferred for bathing. Disposable (single-patient) slings must not be washed — washing destroys their integrity and makes them unsafe.

Always inspect the sling before every use for fraying, broken stitches, or damaged loops/clips. Replace the sling immediately if any damage is found.

Bariatric sizes use striped binding (yellow/green/blue/black with white stripes).

Important: Weight is only a starting guide. Body shape, height, and clinical condition also affect the correct size. When in doubt, have the patient assessed.

The Calibre and HPL700 require bariatric loop-style slings. These are clearly marked with white stripes on the binding and have a higher safe working load of 850 lbs.

Standard 500 lb loop slings should not be used on the Calibre or HPL700 when the patient weight approaches or exceeds 500 lbs.

Active / standing slings are different from full-body passive slings:

• Elevate, Journey, and the older Ascend use specific standing or transport slings (both loop and some clip versions).
• Standing sling safe working load is typically 440 lbs.
• The Elevate can use a special clip-style standing sling, but only when fitted with the correct spreader bar (part 0Y0488).

The Hoyer Up is a sling-free design for patients who can actively participate, although standing harnesses can sometimes be used depending on the clinical situation.

Clip-style Comfort slings are compatible with:

• Presence
• Stature

These lifts can be fitted with a 4-point positioning cradle that accepts the Securi3 clips. Clip-style slings also have a safe working load of 500 lbs.

According to the official Joerns Sling Chart, loop-style slings are compatible with:

• Advance
• Elara
• HPL450
• HPL500
• HPL700
• Presence
• Stature

These lifts use a 6-point spreader bar. Standard loop slings have a safe working load of 500 lbs.
