The Hoyer U-Sling is a Classic loop-style sling available in multiple sizes and configurations, including padded or mesh materials and versions with or without head support.

Hoyer Classic One Piece Sling

The Hoyer Classic One Piece Sling is a full-body Classic-series sling with a positioning strap. It is designed for patients who may require substantial body support and may also be considered for amputee patients following an individual assessment.

The One Piece Sling does not have a commode aperture. If toileting access is required, the Classic One Piece Commode Sling is a separate option.

The Hoyer Classic One Piece Commode Sling provides full-body support while incorporating a commode opening for toileting access.

It is also designed for patients who may need to remain in the sling for an extended period and may be appropriate for amputee patients following an individual assessment.

HML400 Weight Capacity vs. Sling Capacity

The Hoyer HML400 has a safe working load of 400 lb. Some compatible Hoyer Classic slings may have a higher safe working load, but the capacity of the sling does not increase the capacity of the lift.

Never exceed the 400 lb safe working load of the HML400, and always stay within the safe working load of every component being used.

Choosing the Correct Sling Size

Sling size should not be selected by patient weight alone. Joerns provides recommended weight ranges as sizing guidance, but body shape, height, mobility, positioning needs, and the type of transfer can also affect proper sling selection.

Always use the sizing information for the specific sling being considered and confirm that the sling is appropriate for the individual patient.

Check Attachment Compatibility

Not every Hoyer sling is compatible with every Hoyer lift. Before use, confirm that the sling attachment style matches the cradle installed on the HML400.

Do not substitute a sling simply because it uses loops or appears to fit the cradle. Follow the current Joerns sling selection information and the instructions supplied with the specific sling.

Inspect the Sling Before Every Transfer
